Emma Mitchum
Involvement: KAPi VP of Programming, SGA, Rocky Top Roundtable, Dean of Students Fellow
Each of the organizations I have been involved in throughout my time at UTK have shaped my experience in many ways! I have gained friends, community, and experience in every single one. As I look to graduate in the spring I know that my college experience would not be as fulfilling as it has been without the organizations I have been involved in.

Through my involvement with Kappa Alpha Pi and other organizations on campus, I have made meaningful relationships with people working towards similar goals. In addition to making friends, my organizations on campus have allowed me to experience opportunities I would not have had elsewhere, which has helped in preparing me for law school and after!

Xi Pledge Class, Class of 2028
Caroline Acuff
Involvement: KAPi Records Manager, Sigma Kappa, VolCatholic, Baker School
Through my involvement in KAPi leadership,I have grown a deeper understanding on successful leadership, professional development, and preparation for law school. The other organizations I am involved in have shaped my experience here at UTK in many ways. If it was not for my eagerness to be involved, I would not have met one of my best friends, my little in Sigma Kappa. The connections I have built in every organization have given me incredible professional, social, and religious communities that I could not imagine UTK without!

Involvement: Jones Center Ambassadors, VolTeam, SGA Communications Team, Appalachian Justice Research Center
My involvement in Kappa Alpha Pi and other organizations such as the Jones Center Ambassadors, VolTeam, the SGA Communications Team, and the Appalachian Justice Research Center has greatly shaped my college experience. KAPi has provided me with a strong network of peers who share my passion for law and leadership, helping me grow both personally and professionally. As a Jones Center Ambassador and member of VolTeam, I’ve strengthened my communication and leadership skills while connecting with diverse groups across campus. Working with the SGA Communications Team has allowed me to develop my creativity and ability to represent student voices effectively. Through the Appalachian Justice Research Center, I’ve gained hands-on experience in advocacy and research related to social and environmental justice. Altogether, these experiences have empowered me to become a more confident, service-driven leader prepared to make an impact beyond college.

KAPi and my other organizations have helped me feel at home here on campus. Being involved is the greatest blessing ever— it makes a 40,000 person campus feel like small. Everywhere I go I see people I know and work with, and I am so grateful for the community the KAPi and other clubs have given me!
